Director of Greek Life Corey Gant stepped down from his position after a year and a half for reasons undisclosed.
His official last day was Thursday, Oct. 31.
Gant declined to comment, saying he would “prefer not to speak on behalf of the Greek community” as he left.
Gant is the third director of Greek life in about three and a half years.
His resignation comes just over two months before sorority formal recruitment and fraternity recruitment. The university is in the midst of informal recruitment, with no official director of Greek life.
Leah Beard, the assistant director of leadership development and student engagement, has taken over as the interim Panhellenic Council advisor.
Dean for Diversity, Inclusion and Student Engagement Tamara Futrell will temporarily advise the national Panhellenic Council.
Dean of Career and Professional Development John Jensen and Dean of Student Life Dave Leonard will temporarily advise the Interfraternity Council.
“A transition to a new director of Greek life has not taken place,” Beard said.
Recruitment chairs for two sororities, who declined to speak on the record, said they have “no idea” how Gant leaving will affect recruitment, if at all.
Panhellenic Executive Council President Catherine Latour, ‘20, and Head of Recruitment Allison Young, ‘20, declined to comment.
